About

Stitch Craft Vintage is a vintage and handmade clothing and accessory boutique in Jacksonville, FL.  Our doors first opened in April 2013 but the shop has been a dream many years in the making.

Who runs this thing?
I do! I'm Tiffany and you can find me in the shop every weekend.  I'm a Jacksonville native and Georgia Southern alumna (Go Eagles!!).  I have been wearing, loving, and buying vintage clothing since junior high- back when my budget would only allow for cheap old things from Goodwill.  I started out collecting novelty t-shirts (the more absurd, the better) and as my style changed over the years I began looking for unique dresses, skirts and blouses to work into my wardrobe alongside pieces from big-box stores. One thing I love about vintage clothing is that it never goes out of style.  My aesthetic is constantly evolving but I have always had a penchant for animal jewelry, floral skirts, shirtwaist dresses and polka dot blouses.  You can usually find me sporting a top knot and turban-style headband.
I use the corporate "we" at times here on the blog and on social media to refer to myself and the shop.  That probably sounds weird but it works.  I'm not totally alone in this thing, though.  My husband Ben is my rock, my handyman, my biggest fan and my best critic.  He gets all the credit for my awesome shop interior and also for encouraging me to pursue my dreams.

What is vintage and why should I care?
Vintage clothing is loosely defined as clothing 20 years or older which possesses an aesthetic quality that makes it stand out and is representative of the era in which it was produced.   There are several reasons we love vintage and think you will, too.  When you buy a piece of vintage clothing, it's going to be one-of-a-kind.  You can rest easy knowing you will be the only girl on campus, at work or at that party with the piece you are wearing.  Vintage clothing is also higher quality than the fast fashion products that are quickly and cheaply manufactured today.  Our vintage pieces have survived at least one lifetime already and in good condition to survive another.  We are also proud to sell vintage as a way of reducing waste and the carbon footprint.  Secondhand clothing is the most environmentally-friendly way to dress!

What kinds of handmade goods do you make and sell?
We proudly offer handmade dresses, skirts, tote bags and clutches at this time in the shop.  Currently we offer dresses, tunics, kimonos, and skirts, and we hope to expand our selection in the future to include a variety of silhouettes, prints and cuts!  We also make and sell hand-assembled charm necklaces and rings.  We love quirky jewelry that says something unique about the person wearing it.

Where do you get all your vintage clothing?
We strive to bring our customers vintage offerings that they wouldn't otherwise find locally.  In order to do so, we head out of the city every 2-3 months in search of quality vintage in other cities across the Southeast.  Our merchandising trips are epic; we usually come back with at least 250+ new items each time!
